Florida's Wetland WebGIS

Our objective was to develop an interactive information and visualization framework for Floridas wetlands. We standardized and integrated 2,130 geo-referenced point observations of 78 different physical, chemical, and biological attributes collected in Florida's wetlands from 1987 to present. A Web-based GIS tool was created with ArcIMS to augment these point observations with other GIS layers such as soils, geology, land use, and county boundaries providing query and retrieval functions to users. We used the ArcGIS Geostatistical Analyst to conduct a spatial analysis with subsets of the dataset. Our global learning environment for Florida's wetlands is accessible at http://GISWetlands.ifas.ufl.edu.
